Performance Rating
The GeForce 820M was a mobile graphics chip by NVIDIA, launched on November 27th, 2013. Built on the 28 nm process, and based on the GF117B graphics processor, in its N15V-GM-B-A2 variant, the chip supports DirectX 12. Even though it supports DirectX 12, the feature level is only 11_0, which can be problematic with newer DirectX 12 titles. The GF117B graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 116 mm² and 585 million transistors. It features 96 shading units, 16 texture mapping units, and 8 ROPs. NVIDIA has paired 1,024 MB DDR3 memory with the GeForce 820M, which are connected using a 64-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 625 MHz, memory is running at 900 MHz.
