The FirePro W6150M was a professional mobile graphics chip by AMD, launched on November 12th, 2015. Built on the 28 nm process, and based on the Emerald graphics processor, in its Emerald XT GL variant, the chip supports DirectX 12. The Emerald graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 160 mm² and 2,080 million transistors. Unlike the fully unlocked Radeon R9 M470X, which uses the same GPU but has all 896 shaders enabled, AMD has disabled some shading units on the FirePro W6150M to reach the product's target shader count. It features 768 shading units, 48 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs. AMD has paired 4 GB GDDR5 memory with the FirePro W6150M, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 1075 MHz, memory is running at 1375 MHz (5.5 Gbps effective).
