The FirePro S4000X was a professional mobile graphics chip by AMD, launched on August 7th, 2014. Built on the 28 nm process, and based on the Venus graphics processor, in its Venus XT variant, the chip supports DirectX 12. The Venus graphics processor is an average sized chip with a die area of 123 mm² and 1,500 million transistors. It features 640 shading units, 40 texture mapping units, and 16 ROPs. AMD has paired 2,048 MB GDDR5 memory with the FirePro S4000X, which are connected using a 128-bit memory interface. The GPU is operating at a frequency of 725 MHz, which can be boosted up to 775 MHz, memory is running at 1125 MHz (4.5 Gbps effective).
